Adam is an eMarketing Specialist at DuPont, and Co-Founder of Enymbus. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management. He is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Adam has a passion for entrepreneurship, digital marketing, design, and process improvement for small businesses and startups. Adam co-organizes a variety of events and programs at Start It Up Delaware, from meetup groups to hackathons ... and everything in between.
Bob launched one of the first websites lampooning news and politics. It was named a Top 100 site by PC Magazine. He was also a contributing writer to Jay Leno when he hosted "The Tonight Show." Bob has been performing satire on technology at conferences for leading companies for over a decade. He's now developing an online humorous video feature to tackle rigid ideology and partisan dysfunction. Bob is also a mentor at Start It Up Delaware.
Haley Uzelac is an upcoming senior at The University of Delaware, and is seeking to better understand how marketing and management information systems affect our society today. Her expertise includes project design and management, data analysis and interpretation, and the development and implementation of research tools. Haley enjoys generating new ideas and devising feasible solutions to reach a potential target audience. Her professors and classmates would describe her as a driven, resourceful individual who is never afraid to take on a leadership role. Her sorority sisters would describe her as bubbly and always having a positive outlook. This summer, she is interning with Carvertise, one of the startups based out of at The Loft at Start It Up Delaware, so that she can get some hands-on experience in the advertising field.
As founder and CEO of Jay Greene Photography since 1988, Jay is recognized as an award winning photographer, leader, and specialist in both commercial and architectural photography. His talent and professional reputation have led him to work with the best of the best Home Builders and Architects throughout the tri-state area. Jay is currently a Project Partner for Philadelphia Magazine and is an active member of the Home Builders Association where he has been Co-chair of the prestigious Pyramid Awards for several years. He also gives national public speeches on the topic of digital architectural photography to both professionals and amateurs. Jay is an instructor at Start It Up Delaware.
Katie is a designer, collaborator, engineer, artist, photographer, musician and admirer of all things beautiful. She is passionate about creating spaces that connect with the human spirit and that resonate with people in a deeply restorative way. Katie aims to channel creative expression, honor individuality, and celebrate the inclusion of restorative spaces in everyday places. Utilizing natural elements to bring the outdoors into an interior space, Katie aspires to manifest environments where there is a collective exchange of spirit, community, sustainability, and creativity. Katie was the lead interior designer of The Loft at Start It Up Delaware, as well as the Venture Development Center at The University of Delaware Horn Program in Entrepreneurship. She is also an instructor at Start It Up Delaware.
Matt is opportunity-obsessed and loves everything about entrepreneurship. In addition to creating Founders Films, Matt founded Vision Creations, connects at WellDoc, teaches Lean LaunchPad at The University of Delaware Horn Program in Entrepreneurship, leads corporate training workshops as a Business Model Canvas Certified Trainer/Facilitator, and counsels several new ventures. He is also a mentor at Start It Up Delaware.
Nick is the consummate underdog, he is going to out-work and out-hustle the competition and that’s how he likes it. Since his undergrad years in the competitive Visual Communications program at The University of Delaware, Nick has worked on ads and brands from worldwide companies like adidas, The AFL, Sailor Jerry Rum and large universities all the way down to startup toy companies and law firms. He loves what he does, and what he does is make things look awesome. Nick is obsessive about finding new ideas, styles and design for his clients. He is also an instructor at Start It Up Delaware and co-organizes DesignMixDE, a meetup group for designers.
Rory is a software architect, business coach, and founder of itr8group, a consultancy turning business problems into valuable software and helping tech startups launch their products. Rory is passionate about using software to solve problems and collaborate, and believes that the free exchange of ideas, and support from an open environment like The Loft at Start It Up Delaware, are the future. He is also an instructor and a mentor at Start It Up Delaware, and runs the members-only weekly Donuts n Demos at The Loft every Thursday morning.
Sarah collaborates with creative entrepreneurs who are ready to take their image to the next level. Together, Sarah works with these entrepreneurs to define the value they bring to their audience. She uses branding and design to help define and showcase that value. Before launching Jackalope Heart, Sarah spent 10 years alternating between freelance, agency, and in-house design. Outside of the studio, Sarah is an adjunct professor of visual communications at the Delaware College of Art and Design. She loves to cook with her husband, garden with her pup, travel with friends, and paint. Sarah is an instructor at Start It Up Delaware and is the lead organizer for DesignMixDE, a meetup group for designers.
Steve is a Senior Consultant with the SPSS Predictive Analytics Team at Aviana Global Technologies. Aviana offers training on the IBM SPSS software, and uses it to implement and support predictive analytic processes to optimize an organization’s performance. Before joining Aviana in January of 2014, Steve worked part-time for the SPSS company since 1997, and worked with SPSS full-time after it was acquired by IBM in 2010. Steve also has a Ph.D. in social work from Columbia University, and has specialized in research on homelessness. He worked full-time as a researcher with the University of Pennsylvania since 2004.
